SIMULATION OF THE EXCAVATION OF THE MSUB
videogame, installation, 2014
New Collection, galerija Inex, Belgrade, RS
For the project “New Collection”, young artists were invited to respond to the issue of the Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade (MSUB) being closed for 7 years.
My contribution was a video game in which the players dig tunnels in the ground searching for the buried remains of the MSUB.
Each player has 7 seconds. The last position of each player is saved as a point in the map. The subsequent players can choose a point to begin their 7 seconds of digging at. When the museum gets found, a map containing all the nodes and paths is saved and printed. The museum then gets buried again, and new players can search for it.
In 2017, 10 years after its closing, MSUB opened again.
